March News
In like a lion, out like a lamb? As I sit here on the second day of the school for the week, reminiscing about all the good times last week when the kids were in school for a whopping 11 hours, I see a winter weather advisory for tonight into tomorrow with 3-6 inches of snow…
That makes for good quilting weather though! This Friday is, March 3rd is Sit and Sew with the wonderful Gloria Ryan. I will be out of town but she generously offered to sit in for me. It starts at 9, cost is just $5, call the shop at 218-531-1190 to get signed up! Space is limited so registration is required.
NO Share it Saturday in March.
I am working on some spring classes, those should be out soon. I have so many new projects out in the shop. If you haven’t been in lately stop in and see whats out there. I have new boxes coming in all the time with fabric and other goodies.
Since we still home some winter left this is a friendly reminder that if Fergus Falls schools close for the day I will close as well!
Happy Sewing!

December News
Now that Thanksgiving is over, let the real fun (stress?) begin! I haven’t shopped for many presents yet, but I have made a few. It seems the kids can’t quite decide what they want. The did take turns circling toys in the magazines that come, but they used the same pen. Apparently, I need to be a mind reader now too.
I have many samples new at the shop just in time for Christmas. I am going to be running a sale December 12-15 & 19-20. This will be 25% off Christmas fabrics and kits (all incuded will be marked) as well as a incentive on gift certificates. For every $10 purchased I’ll add on an extra $2.00 so a gift certificate purchased for $10.00 will have a value of $12.00, $20.00 = $22.00, $30.00= 36.00, $40.00 = $48.00, and so on. I have a variety of items set out for under $10 and under $20 for when you need a little gift!
Wool Make and Takes will be happening Wednesdays December 7th and 14 during shop hours. $15 will get you two ornaments plus I’ll be serving up cookies and cider! Reservations are not required, but appreciated. Call the shop to get on the list!
Sit and Sew is this Friday, with the one and only Nita as your hostess! Cost is just $5, and starts at 9am until the last person leaving. Registration is required, space fills up fast! Call to reserve your spot, and let me know if you will be hand sewing or bringing a machine.
Share it Saturday is this Saturday at 10 am. Come and share what you are working on to be entered to win a door prize and I’ll share what is new to the shop! Registration is not necessary.
November News
Fall is in the air. I have been keeping busy with everything. New samples in the shop, longarmed quilts are flying in and out of the door. Home is crazy too! We have completely re-done the outside of our house with just the back siding to finish up. Fundraising is just finishing up - Patrick was top of his pack with popcorn sales totaling $2,856, he also sold raffle tickets for the hockey association. M sold Otter coupon books and wreaths for Boy Scouts. Now I have a short break before the popcorn and wreaths come in on the same day for delivery, yikes! Thanks to all who helped to support them.
You will notice a familiar face around the shop more often. Now that summer is over Nita will be in the shop to help you with your purchases so I can keep up with the quilting demand. Stop in and say HI!
All of my fall classes were so much fun! Its not too late to join in on the fun of Wool Club or Barn Star Sampler. I have a tabletopper mystery November 19th that still has 2 openings. Cost is $60 and includes your lunch from Chef Dan.
I will be taking a long weekend the week of Thanksgiving, just being open Monday the 21st and Tuesday the 22nd. I’m hosting Thanksgiving this year as Dan is on call that week so we can’t leave town, and I’m expecting around 20 for lunch! Wish me luck!
Looking ahead I will also be closed for a little over week (December 21-Jan 2) at Christmas. This is for a few reasons 1- No school 2- I haven’t had a good chance since buying the shop to do any organizing. If you’ve peered into my longarm room that is pretty apparent. 3- Last year I was still struggling with my work-life balance and I didn’t have a chance to get much baking done, or have quality family time. I hope you all understand this and I will do my best to squeeze everyone’s last minute Christmas quilts in. Watch out for a sale to happen mid-December!
I will be on vacation the first weekend in November so Nita will be your hostess for sit and sew, and my mom, Karen Czech, will be your hostess for Share it Saturday! This is the second month of the different week, 1st Saturday instead of 2nd, for Share it Saturday so mark your schedules!
